
Cancer Council WA Mid-Career Investigator Grant
The Cancer Council WA Mid-Career Investigator Grant supports talented mid-career researchers in Western Australia to develop their skills and strengthen their academic track record in cancer research. Projects may focus on cancer causes, prevention, diagnosis, or treatment.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be an early or mid-career researcher
• Chief Investigator A (CIA) must hold a primary appointment at a publicly funded WA higher education or medical research institution
• Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa to work in Australia
• Must be based at an NHMRC Approved Administering Institution in WA
• At least 75% of the research must be conducted in or through WA institutions or hospitals
• Not eligible if previously a CIA on a Cancer Council WA Project Grant or a CI on NHMRC/ARC grants over AUD 140,000 (excluding fellowships)
Funding Details:
• Up to AUD 61,000
• Duration: up to 1 year
Deadline:
• Applications open: 5–7 March 2025
• Application deadline: 16 July 2025
• Notification of outcome: November 2025
