
Cancer Council WA Early-Career Fellowship
The Cancer Council WA Early-Career Fellowship supports exceptional emerging researchers in Western Australia who have the potential to make a significant impact in cancer research. The fellowship funds work across all areas of cancer research including causes, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be an early-career researcher
• Must hold a primary research appointment at a publicly funded WA higher education or medical research institution
• Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or hold a visa permitting work in Australia
• Must be based at an NHMRC Approved Administering Institution in WA
• At least 75% of research must be conducted in or through WA institutions or hospitals
• Ineligible if previously awarded a Cancer Council WA Postdoctoral Fellowship
Funding Details:
• Up to AUD 225,000
• Duration: up to 3 years
Deadline:
• Applications open: 5–7 March 2025
• Application deadline: 7 May 2025
• Interviews: 4–8 August 2025
• Notification of results: September 2025
