
EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025
The EMBO Postdoctoral Fellowships support excellent postdoctoral researchers globally for up to two years, emphasizing international mobility. The fellowship includes a salary or stipend, relocation allowance, and family support, plus access to leadership training and membership in the EMBO Fellows network.
Eligibility Criteria:

Must hold a PhD or equivalent at the fellowship start date

PhD must have been awarded within two years before application

Must have one first-author research publication in an international peer-reviewed journal OR a refereed preprint with in-depth independent peer reviews

Must move to a different country for the fellowship (mobility is mandatory)

Cannot apply to a lab where the PhD was obtained or where the applicant has worked for more than six months

Candidates already in the host lab may apply only if they have been there less than six months

Only one application per round; resubmission allowed once

Projects that directly continue PhD work are not eligible
Funding Details:

Includes EMBO Laboratory Leadership course participation

Results announcement: Mid-December 2025 (for Autumn round), mid-June 2026 (for Spring round)
