MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025 offer PhD holders the opportunity to advance their careers through international, interdisciplinary, and inter-sectoral mobility. With a budget of €404.3 million, the call aims to fund approximately 1,650 projects across all fields of research.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Researchers of any nationality with a PhD and up to 8 years of postdoctoral experience

  • Host institutions must be based in an EU Member State or a Horizon Europe Associated Country

  • Swiss, Moroccan, and Egyptian institutions can apply under transitional arrangements

  • Open to researchers wishing to reintegrate in Europe, restart their careers, or displaced by conflict

Fellowship Types:

  • European Postdoctoral Fellowships: For researchers of any nationality to work in the EU/Associated Countries for up to 24 months

  • Global Postdoctoral Fellowships: For EU/Associated Country nationals to work in a third country for 12–24 months, followed by a 12-month return phase in Europe

  • Optional 6-month placement in a non-academic organisation at the end of the fellowship

Funding Details:

  • Up to 24 months of funding

  • Budget: €404.3 million total

  • Covers salary, mobility allowance, family allowance (if applicable), and research costs

Key Dates:

  • Call opens: 8 May 2025

  • Application deadline: 10 September 2025

  • Notification of results: February 2026 (TBC)

  • Grant agreement signature: March–May 2026 (TBC)

  • Project start: April–May 2026 (TBC)

How to Apply:

  • Researchers must apply with a host organisation

  • Application must be submitted via the Funding & Tenders Portal of the European Commission

  • Global Fellows must secure a host in a third country and a return host in Europe
