
AIRC Short-Term Fellowships
The Fondazione AIRC per la Ricerca sul Cancro ETS offers Short-Term Fellowships to support young scientists and physician-scientists in acquiring new skills or techniques in cancer research through visits of one to three months. These visits must take place in a cancer-focused laboratory or hospital either outside Italy or, if within Italy, in a different region from the applicant’s current affiliation. The fellowship covers mobility-related costs such as travel, accommodation, and health insurance.
Eligibility Criteria:

Open to applicants of any nationality.

Must either:

Hold a PhD or Specialty (no more than 10 years old), or
-
Be enrolled in a PhD or Specialty program.

Must be working in cancer research at a lab/hospital in Italy.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of cancer.

Applications must be submitted at least 3 months before the proposed start date.

Not eligible: applicants with permanent positions, current AIRC individual grant holders, those returning to former institutions, or visits within commuting distance.
Funding Details:

Maximum of 1,500 EUR per month (up to 4,500 EUR total).

Covers one round-trip (economy fare), accommodation, local transport, and health insurance.

Reimbursement based on receipts and actual expenditures.

AIRC funds cannot overlap with other financial support sources.

There are no application deadlines; applications can be submitted throughout the year, until all available budget has been spent.
