Cancer Grand Challenge: The Nervous System and Cancer

This challenge seeks to uncover how the nervous system dynamically interacts with cancer. Teams are asked to explore the bidirectional communication between nerves and tumours, including how nervous system signals promote cancer progression, therapeutic resistance, immune evasion, and metastasis. The goal is to generate novel mechanistic insights that could lead to breakthrough therapies.

Eligibility Criteria:

Global, interdisciplinary research teams
Must integrate expertise in neuroscience, oncology, and immunology
Must investigate cancers beyond those confined to the nervous system

Funding Details:

Up to £20 million (USD 25 million) per team
