Cancer Grand Challenge: Rewiring Cancer Cells
This challenge aims to pioneer novel approaches that rewire the internal signalling systems of cancer cells to reduce malignancy or induce self-destruction. By harnessing advances in synthetic biology and systems biology, teams will explore ways to shift cancer cell behavior away from oncogenesis, creating new therapeutic strategies that avoid common resistance mechanisms seen with targeted inhibitors.
Eligibility Criteria:
-
Open to global, interdisciplinary research teams
-
Must combine expertise in areas such as synthetic biology, AI, medicinal chemistry, structure-based drug design, cancer biology, immunology, and cellular signalling
-
Proposals must not focus on targeted protein degradation
Funding Details:
-
Up to £20 million (USD 25 million) per team
