
AACR Career Development Awards in Lung Cancer Research
The AACR Career Development Awards in Lung Cancer Research provide early-career investigators with funding to support meritorious research focused on the prevention, detection, and treatment of lung cancer. This award aims to foster the development of independent careers in lung cancer research and promote innovative projects in basic, translational, clinical, or epidemiologic science.
Eligibility:

Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent).

Must hold a tenure-track faculty appointment at the level of assistant professor or equivalent as of September 1, 2025.

Must have held their first full-time faculty appointment no more than six years prior to the application deadline.

Must have independent laboratory space and research responsibility.

Open to researchers in any country; no citizenship requirement.

Must be an AACR Active member in good standing or have submitted a membership application by the deadline.

Must not be a current recipient of a major independent grant (e.g., NIH R01 or equivalent).

Cannot currently hold another AACR grant.
Funding:

Total funding: USD 250,000 over two years (USD 125,000 per year).

No indirect costs allowed.

Funds may support the principal investigator’s salary and benefits, lab personnel, supplies, equipment, and travel (up to USD 3,000 for AACR meetings).
