The Women in Leadership Workshop is an annual, invitation-only event held by the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), with the 2025 edition taking place on June 16 at the Hotel Vila Galé Opéra in Lisbon, Portugal.

Specifically designed for female members in or entering their first independent position, the workshop aims to empower researchers to excel in male-dominated scientific environments by honing leadership skills rather than focusing on career breaks or caring commitments.

The program features a TED-style talk by Caroline Dive, a panel discussion with renowned women scientists, and an interactive debate on topics like assertiveness and self-promotion. A unique highlight of the event is the use of professional actors to role-play challenging workplace scenarios, such as “mansplaining” and exclusion from decision-making, providing participants with practical strategies to thrive at the top of their fields.
