Overactivation of Oncogenic Signalling as a Potential Cancer Treatment Strategy

Jan 20, 2026 - Jan 21, 2026
Oncogenic Signalling

The European Association for Cancer Research (EACR) conference, Overactivation of Oncogenic Signalling as a Potential Cancer Treatment Strategy,” is a Virtual Event scheduled for January 20-21, 2026. This conference explores a paradoxical and radically different approach to cancer therapy: instead of inhibiting the signals that drive cancer, it focuses on the deliberate hyper-activation of oncogenic signaling pathways.

Accumulating evidence suggests that excessive stimulation can lead to cancer cell death by causing a further activation of cellular stress responses. The meeting, chaired by Rene Bernards, aims to give the audience a fundamentally different perspective on treating advanced cancers where conventional inhibition strategies have failed, by focusing on drugs that activate oncogenic signaling and the resulting vulnerabilities of cancer cells.
