The Genomic, Host, and Microenvironmental Determinants of Cancer Progression webinar, hosted by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), will take place virtually on 19 August 2026, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM ET.

The session will feature Christina Curtis, PhD, MSc, Professor of Medicine, Genetics, and Biomedical Data Science at Stanford University, with Rao Divi, PhD, MSc, Program Director in the Environmental Epidemiology Branch of NCI’s Epidemiology and Genomics Research Program, serving as moderator.

The webinar will explore how tumor genomics, inherited germline variation, host immunity, and the tumor microenvironment influence cancer progression and clinical outcomes. Topics will include long-term prediction of breast cancer recurrence using somatic copy-number alterations, the role of Germline Epitope Burden (GEB) in immune recognition and tumor evolution, and emerging approaches for studying premalignancy using CRISPR/Cas9-engineered organoids and high-resolution human tissue profiling.

The meeting will be held online and is intended for researchers and healthcare professionals interested in cancer genomics, tumor evolution, immunology, and precision oncology.
