This conference is particularly significant as it marks the first time that PTCOG is hosting the Annual Conference in South America. The event will be held during an exciting time for the region, coinciding with the opening of Argentina’s first Proton Therapy Centre, symbolizing a pivotal moment in the development of particle therapy in Latin America.
The vibrant city of Buenos Aires, known for its rich cultural heritage, will provide an ideal setting for the conference. PTCOG 63 aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in particle therapy, with a strong focus on expanding access to this advanced treatment. The conference will feature educational sessions, followed by three days of scientific presentations covering a range of topics, including clinical applications, physics, and biology. The theme, “Bridging Borders in Particle Therapy” highlights the importance of global collaboration and the expansion of particle therapy, especially in developing countries. The conference will also include dedicated sessions in Spanish, promoting interaction among Latin American peers and supporting regional cooperation.
In addition to the rich scientific program, PTCOG 63 will offer opportunities for younger generations to engage in leadership roles through the Scholar-in-Training (SIT) Sub-Committee. The conference will also explore new research avenues and funding opportunities for small research projects. With over 4,000 members and more than 100 facilities represented, PTCOG 63 will be a critical event in the ongoing growth and development of particle therapy worldwide. Participants will not only gain valuable insights but will also experience the unique spirit and hospitality of Argentina.
