Wide variations in use of innovative oncology drugs across europe
A report by IQVIA reveals that the use of innovative oncology drugs in Europe generally correlates with GDP, but there are exceptions. Western Europe exceeds the European average in volume usage, while Eastern Europe lags behind. Wealthier countries like Ireland and Norway have similar usage rates to the European average, while Austria and France have higher rates. Slovenia stands out with higher usage compared to Spain and the UK. Multiple factors contribute to these differences, including epidemiology, reimbursement decisions, and patient preferences.
