Robin T. Zon is a medical oncologist, healthcare leader, and national advocate for patient-centered, equitable cancer care. She served as the President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for the 2024–2025 term and Chair of the ASCO Society Board (2025–2026). Dr. Zon’s career spans clinical care, research, public policy, business leadership, and patient advocacy. She has chaired multiple ASCO committees, including the Government Relations Committee, Clinical Practice Committee, and the ASCO Pathways Task Force, and co-chaired the ASCO Telemedicine Standards Expert Committee, helping shape national standards for oncology practice. Her contributions have been recognized with ASCO’s Advocate of the Year Award (2017) and the Distinguished Achievement Award (2020).
As ASCO President, Dr. Zon’s theme – “Driving Knowledge to Action. Building a Better Future.” – focused on harnessing emerging technologies such as AI, strengthening evidence-based advocacy at local and national levels, supporting the oncology workforce, and expanding ASCO’s global engagement, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Her leadership emphasizes collaboration, equity, and the translation of knowledge into meaningful improvements in cancer care worldwide.
