Neha Vapiwala, President of American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), shared on LinkedIn:
“Wonderful to see the global radiation oncology community come together at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Global Refresher Course in Colombia!
It was a pleasure connecting with colleagues and leaders from across Latin America, including the presidents of ACRO – Asociación Colombiana de Radioterapia Oncológica and ALATRO, our dedicated ASTRO International Ambassadors, and especially the enthusiastic residents and early-career radiation oncologists who represent the future of our specialty!
Special thanks to our Colombian ASTRO Ambassador, Lina María Loaiza Salazar, for her leadership in organizing this successful event, and to our ambassadors from across the region, including Gustavo R. Sarria (Peru), Lola de la Mata (Mexico), and Arthur Rosa (Brazil), as well as Alexandra Diaz, Chair of the Education and Training Subcommittee of the ASTRO International Committee.
Events like these go beyond education. They build lasting connections, strengthen international collaboration, and inspire the next generation of radiation oncologists.
Grateful to everyone who contributed to this wonderful gathering and proud to see our ASTRO global community continuing to grow!”
