Erika Hamilton: New Data, New Questions and New Hope After ESMO 2026

Erika Hamilton, Chief Development Officer, Late Phase and Director of the Breast Cancer Research Program, shared on LinkedIn:

“Arriving home after ESMO26 energized by the science, the conversations, and the people moving cancer care forward.

As a breast cancer researcher, I’m excited by the progress in our field and the questions that will shape our next clinical trials. As Chief Development Officer, Late Phase at Sarah Cannon Research Institute , it was equally rewarding to see my SCRI colleagues across tumor types including Melissa Johnson, Benjamin Garmezy, Meredith McKean share key data and help define what comes next for patients.

A few highlights here – from presentations to time with colleagues and friends from around the world. These connections matter. They allow us to challenge ideas, build collaborations, and move promising treatments forward together.

Behind every dataset are patients and families hoping for more time, better options, and a better quality of life. That is what gives this work its purpose. A special thank you to the patients who participate in clinical trials and the teams who make that research possible.

Thank you to ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology, President Fabrice Andre for his leadership, and to the ESMO staff and scientific committees and chairs for the tremendous work behind this meeting.

Heading home with new ideas, renewed resolve, and plenty of work to do.”
