Australian Research Centre for Cancer Survivorship (ARCCS) shared on LinkedIn:
“What a wonderful day at Women and Cancer Survivorship: Sex, Gender and Society!
We had a great turnout and were delighted to bring together people from across the cancer community. The morning symposium explored women’s cancer survivorship through the perspectives of survivors, researchers and health professionals, with a focus on sex, gender and priorities for improving care in Australia.
A big thank you to Cheryl Jones, Dean of Medicine and Health, for opening the day, and to Rebecca White for sharing a video message.
We’re especially grateful to our lived experience panellists, Victoria Turner (LeQuesne), Usha Salagame, Na’ama Carlin and Lillian Leigh GAICD, for sharing their perspectives and offering moving, insightful reflections on cancer survivorship.

Thank you to our keynote speaker, Ophira Ginsburg, for an engaging presentation that gave us plenty to consider, and to Sianan Healy for sharing the work of Women’s Health Victoria.
The subsequent roundtable workshop sparked a lively discussion, with insightful presentations on cardiovascular disease; fertility and menopause; multimorbidity and ageing; and social factors, caregiving and unemployment. Participants then captured shared priorities for women’s cancer health on paper, helping shape ideas for the work ahead. Thank you to our presenters: Patricia Davidson, Clare Arnott, Antoinette Anazodo, Monica Tang, Reema Harrison, Janette Vardy, Mei Ling Yap and Hayley Jones.
We’re grateful to all our speakers, panellists and attendees for making the symposium and roundtable such a memorable day. The conversations and connections will continue as we work together to improve women’s cancer care.”
