Sheraz Azhar: Honoured and Grateful to Be Nominated for the UHL Digital Champion Award
Sheraz Azhar, Medical Oncology SpR at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and Founder of OncsCare, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Feeling honoured and grateful today.
I have been nominated by my colleagues for the UHL Digital Champion Award, recognising the work behind OncsCare – our clinician-led digital triage and symptom monitoring tool for cancer patients receiving outpatient treatment.
This nomination means a lot to me, not just as a personal milestone, but as a sign that ideas grown from everyday frontline care can turn into practical solutions when supported by the right people and the right Trust culture.
OncsCare started with a simple aim: to make sure patients aren’t left invisible between treatment cycles. It’s been a journey of learning, building, testing, and listening – and it’s still only the beginning.
A huge thank you to William Monaghan, Dr Olubukola Ayodele, Dr Sadaqat Hussain, and our amazing oncology team who have signed up to be part of our Phase 1 pilot – your advice, encouragement and practical support have made this possible.
I’m so grateful to be working alongside brilliant colleagues who share the same commitment to safer, smarter cancer care.
