“I am delighted to announce Mallika Marar as a new faculty member in the Department of Radiation Oncology at NYU Langone.
Dr. Marar joins us from Stanford University, where she has served as Director of Radiopharmaceutical Therapy in Radiation Oncology, with a joint appointment in Radiology (Nuclear Medicine).
Dr. Marar earned her BA (summa cum laude), MD, and MBA at the University of Pennsylvania, completed her transitional year at Memorial Sloan Kettering, and trained in radiation oncology at Stanford.
Dr. Marar is a national voice in radiopharmaceutical therapy.
She leads the 177Lu-PSMA guidelines for metastatic prostate cancer on the American Radium Society’s Appropriate Use Criteria Committee for Unsealed Sources, and serves on the NRG Oncology and SWOG theranostics subcommittees and the ASTRO Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Committee.
At Stanford she was involved in several collaborative industry trials, and she has spoken nationally on building radiopharmaceutical programs and on combining radiopharmaceuticals with immunotherapy.
Her MBA and industry experience at Genentech and Bristol Myers Squibb also give her a unique understanding of drug development and partnerships, and she serves on the ASTRO Corporate Relations Committee.
At NYU Langone, Dr. Marar will elevate our theranostics program in close partnership with our exceptional colleagues in Radiology.
Through this collaboration, our center will advance development of investigator-initiated and cooperative-group trials, broaden access to radioligand therapies across Perlmutter, and build upon an outstanding academic program in clinical care, research, and education.
