Leadership Changes in the IKCC Board of Directors

International Kidney Cancer Coalition (IKCC) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“The start of November marked several leadership changes in the IKCC Board of Directors.

After serving as a Board member since 2017 and Chair of IKCC’s Medical Advisory Board (MAB) for the past two years, Dr Eric Jonasch (US) is now Board Chair of IKCC’s Board of Directors. Eric has been a champion of evidence-based activities and advocacy. He has been involved in IKCC’s Clinical Leadership Development Program and was instrumental in expanding MAB membership globally. Dr Michael Jewett has now moved into the position of Immediate Past Chair.

Claudia Ungarelli (IT) has become Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Claudia first joined the IKCC Board in 2023. The combination of her professional experience as an advocacy and lobbying specialist coupled with her personal experience as a caregiver to her father and grandfather who were both diagnosed with kidney cancer, brings a unique and valuable perspective to the organisation. Bryan Lewis (US) will serve as past-Vice-Chair for one year.

Dr Bart van Goudoever (NL) is now Secretary / Treasurer. He has held financial leadership positions on many boards across various social service and health-related sectors. His extensive experience in governance, particularly within the Dutch regulatory framework where IKCC is legally based, adds significant value to the IKCC Board. Anne Wilson has now moved into a one-year term as Past Secretary/Treasurer.

Finally, following the most recent call for nominations, we are pleased to announce that Carmen Auste, the CEO of Cancer Warriors in the Philippines, has joined the Board of Directors. She brings 40 years of leadership and project management experience related to healthcare, sustainable financing and social and environmental issues. She is keen to leverage this knowledge to support IKCC’s efforts in advocacy, stakeholder engagement and resource mobilisation globally and especially the Asia Pacific region.
