Khanh Bui, CEO of Bui Family Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Happy New Year. After 20 years at Genentech, I decided to take the generous severance package, and the receive the full unemployment insurance from the state of IL in 2025. After much soul searching, discussing with my spiritual and non spiritual advisors, reading tea leaves, drinking tea, consulting with consultants, I’ve accepted a new role at the Bui Family Foundation.
As the CEO, I will also be the the chief investment officer running both the retirement and non retirement retiring accounts for this family of 5, director of transportation and travel services, director of culinary planning, procurement, fitness and well being, chief of facilities management, marketing along with numerous other responsibilities.
This role excites me for it’s customer-centric focus, thinking outside of the box, a win-win can do attitude towards changing the paradigm while making sure we land this plane while at the same time building the plane as we fly it, leveling up, upskilling and making sure we get the low hanging fruit as we deep dive and drill down while keeping the work hard play hard ethos, rewarding our most loyal customers, growing out business through innovative solutions and creative tactics, keep people in the loop, circling back to key performance indicators, making sure the information is on my radar and having the bandwidth to do it all, making sure everyone is singing from the same song sheet, keeping our ducks in a row, avoiding deer in the headlights look, getting our feet wet, keeping boots on the ground, being aligned, agree to disagree, using our synergies and at the end of the day, keeping our eye on the prize. If you need me, text/call me as I don’t check LinkedIn much.”
