Kelly Brown Joins Roche as VP and Disease Area Head of Lung, GI and GU Oncology

Kelly Brown, VP and Disease Area Head of Lung, GI and GU Oncology at Roche, shared on LinkedIn:

“60 days in – and it feels like the right moment to share this new chapter.

After 20 years at AstraZeneca, I’ve joined Roche as VP and Disease Area Head – Lung, GI and GU Oncology.

These first few weeks have been a chance to listen, learn and meet an incredible group of people. From colleagues across Basel and South San Francisco to teams in affiliates around the world, I’ve been struck by the depth of expertise, openness to new ideas and genuine ambition for what Roche can achieve in oncology.

Getting closer to the pipeline and the science behind it has been genuinely energizing. There is a real ambition to be a leader in oncology, and I’m excited by what that could mean for patients across lung, GI and GU cancers.

A highlight, so far, was traveling to Seoul for the World Conference on Lung Cancer. Hearing directly from medical oncologists about where the greatest unmet needs still remain – and how much they value the partnership with Roche – was a great reminder of why the work we do matters.

After two decades in one place, starting somewhere new is both humbling and energizing. I’m asking lots of questions, learning a ton and enjoying seeing things through a different lens.

I’m also deeply grateful for the warm welcome and happy to be back in Switzerland with my family as we step into this next chapter.

A special thank you to Wendy Cheung Karsten Jung, Christiane Schumacher for the trust, the opportunity and for bringing me on board.

I’m excited about what lies ahead!”
