Julia Gray, Former Senior Vice President of Individual Giving at the American Cancer Society, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Some career moves feel bigger than a new role. This is one of those for me.
I’m incredibly excited to begin my next chapter with the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. Throughout my career, I’ve seen what’s possible when bold ideas, extraordinary people, and philanthropy come together around a shared purpose. At PICI, I’ll have the opportunity to help accelerate groundbreaking cancer immunotherapy research and bring together visionary partners who want to change what’s possible for patients.
Cancer has touched my own family in profound ways, making this work deeply personal. Watching someone I love go through an aggressive cancer diagnosis and treatment, and now live with the fear of recurrence, has given me an even deeper appreciation for the urgency of finding better answers and better treatments.
As I close my chapter at the American Cancer Society, I’m grateful for the colleagues, volunteers, donors, and partners I’ve had the privilege of working alongside and for all we accomplished together. Those relationships and experiences will stay with me.
I’m energized by what lies ahead: the science, the collaboration, the urgency, and the opportunity to connect transformational philanthropy with transformational research. And as if this next chapter couldn’t get any better, I get to work alongside one of the very best, Maria Olson, and the incredible Parker team as we help accelerate discoveries that will change lives.
I can’t wait to get started! But for today, I’m celebrating my son’s 5th birthday and feeling exactly where I’m supposed to be.”
