“I’m thrilled to welcome Dr. Clifford G. Robinson to Varian as our new Vice President of Clinical Research within Medical Affairs.
I’ve admired Cliff’s work for many years. He is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading clinical investigators in radiation oncology, with an exceptional track record of translating innovative ideas into practice. From advancing thoracic oncology and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) to pioneering noninvasive cardiac radioablation for ventricular tachycardia, Cliff has consistently helped redefine what radiotherapy can accomplish.
In his new role, Cliff will lead the clinical strategy for Varian’s recently announced ARPA-H-funded FLASH photon program, helping guide this transformative technology from development to patient care. He will also oversee key decisions across our sponsored clinical research portfolio, support investigator-initiated studies, and help shape our strategy in exciting areas such as FLASH radiotherapy, theranostics, immunotherapy, and non-oncologic applications of radiation therapy.
What excites me most is not only Cliff’s remarkable scientific accomplishments, but also his passion for collaboration, mentorship, and improving outcomes for patients around the world.
