The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) has recognized 34 oncology professionals with the 2027 Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology designation, honoring their sustained service, engagement, and commitment to advancing the global cancer community.
The FASCO distinction represents one of ASCO’s highest acknowledgments of volunteer contribution. It is awarded to members whose long-term involvement has helped strengthen the work and mission of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the Association for Clinical Oncology, collectively known as ASCO.
A Distinction Built on Service
Launched in 2007 and formerly known as the ASCO Statesman Award, the FASCO program recognizes members who have demonstrated extraordinary dedication through leadership, volunteer service, professional engagement, and participation in ASCO initiatives.
Beyond professional achievement, the designation reflects a sustained commitment to supporting the oncology community, contributing to organizational priorities, and advancing ASCO’s efforts in cancer research, education, policy, and patient care.
What Does It Take to Become a FASCO?
Eligibility for the FASCO designation is determined through a structured point-based system. ASCO members must accumulate at least 100 points through qualifying volunteer and engagement activities.
Both the opportunity to earn points and the designation itself are reserved for ASCO members in good standing.
Since 2022, the framework has expanded to formally recognize a broader range of engagement activities. This allows members to earn credit through contributions extending beyond traditional committee appointments and formal leadership positions.
