Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Grateful to medical women’s association of Nigeria for the Award of Recognition
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu shared a post on X:
“Grateful to Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria for the Award of Recognition in acknowledgment of my efforts to enhance the health and wellbeing of women in my community.
This came after being a panelist in their first ever African Women in Medicine, Health, and Wellness conference.
We discussed ‘Leveraging Existing Platforms for Cervical Cancer Screening’.
A few days ago, World Health Organization (WHO) announced, via its NCD Director, Bente Mikkelsen, the prequalification of an additional HPV test, to be used on a high throughput platform in combination with self sampling.
Despite worries about cost, it represents a key development for expanding screening programs to help detection and prevention of cervical cancer.
I also re emphasized the need to fully incentivize health workers and obtain their buy into programs we expect them to run.”
