Appointed as Non-Executive Director of the new European Cancer Community Foundation – Julie Fitzsimmins

Many of us have been impacted by #cancer in or own organisations, networks and families and many of us feel strongly about creating a better health future. I am humbled to say that I have been appointed as Non-Executive Director of the new European Cancer Community Foundation launching on 29 June in the European Parliament (17.00 CEST).

Everyone deserves access to high-quality cancer care, regardless of their race, ethnicity, income level, gender identity or geographic location. As we champion #diversity and #inclusion in our businesses we have a unique opportunity to highlight the impact of #inequalities on #cancerpatients . This new foundation is committed to tackling inequalities and breaking down the barriers that prevent underserved communities from receiving the care they need and deserve.

The European Cancer Community Foundation will be providing grants to small organisations and individuals across Europe, for research and projects focused on tackling inequalities and who are struggling with resources to fund their important work.
