Jasmine Kamboj – Candidate for ASCO Nominating Committee

Jasmine Kamboj has been nominated as Designated Community Oncologist Candidate Member Candidate of the nomination committee for ASCO.

The ASCO Nominating Committee has selected 13 distinguished members as candidates for leadership positions within the Society.

ASCO encourages all eligible members to vote for the new leaders of the Society.
Eligible members include those holding a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Pharmacy, Doctor of Medical Science, Doctor of Nursing Science, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or an equivalent doctoral-level degree recognized by the Society and the Association, and who are in good standing as of October 14, 2024. Voting in the ASCO Election will earn eligible members a FASCO point.

The voting period ends on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. All ballots, whether submitted online or by paper, must be received by this deadline.

Jasmine Kamboj, MD, FASCO, is a Community Oncologist and Hematologist at the Mayo Clinic Health System.

The Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (FASCO) distinction recognizes members for their volunteer engagement, and commitment to ASCO.

Jasmine Kamboj currently serves as a Senior Associate Consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology within the Department of Oncology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, since March 13, 2023. Additionally, she holds the position of Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, a role she began on May 1, 2024.

Dr. Jasmine Kamboj has held a series of significant leadership and clinical roles throughout her career.

From June 2016 to June 2019, she served as a Medical Oncologist and Hematologist at Sanford Health in Bemidji, Minnesota, where she also held the position of Chair of the Sanford Health Breast Committee and Site Principal Investigator.

From 2019 to 2022, Dr. Kamboj was with Allina Health Cancer Institute, where she took on multiple leadership roles, including Medical Oncologist and Hematologist, Clinic Site Director, Department Chief, and Chair of the Integrated Network Cancer Committee.

She also served as a member of the Medical Executive Committee and chaired the Precision Task Force and Stewardship Committee. In 2023, Dr. Kamboj transitioned to her current roles at Mayo Clinic, continuing to make significant contributions to the field of oncology.

Education

Dr. Jasmine Kamboj completed her MBBS at Armed Forces Medical College in Pune, India, from July 2001 to April 2007. She then pursued her Residency in Internal Medicine at Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science from November 2009 to November 2012. Following this, Dr. Kamboj undertook a Fellowship in Hematology Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine from January 2013 to December 2015. More recently, she served as a Fellow in Climate Health and Organizing at Cambridge Health Alliance, affiliated with Harvard Medical School, from October 2022 to April 2023.
