Kenji Lopez-Cuevas Is Running For The UICC Board of Directors

Kenji López Cuevas is a Mexican attorney and leading cancer advocate.

This year he’s running among other candidates including Matti Aapro, Tsetsegsaikhan Batmunkh, Stella Aguinaga Bialous, Maira Caleffi, Hana Chaar Choueib, Todd Harper, Christopher Jackson, Dilyara Kaidarova, David Kerr, Purna Kurkure, Gilberto Lopes, Kenji Lopez-Cuevas, Asem Mansour, Miriam Mutebi, Omar Nimri, C S Pramesh, Kathleen Schmeler, and Naoto Ueno.

Kenji

He founded and serves as the president of Cáncer Warriors de México, an organization dedicated to advancing the rights of cancer patients and enhancing cancer care in the country.

Through his advocacy efforts, López Cuevas was instrumental in initiating the “#ElCáncerEnLaAgenda” campaign, which aims to elevate cancer as a national policy priority.

Additionally, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), where he worked on global initiatives to improve access to cancer treatment and inform policy changes.

He is also the founder of Promalud. He has served as the Deputy Private Secretary to the President at National Commission on Human Rights, Mexico.

Education

He completed his Master’s in Public Policy from Tecnológico de Monterrey and completed Executive Education Program, Mexico and US/Bilateral Agenda from Georgetown University.

He completed his business specialisation from the Comillas Pontifical University.

In an interview with Executive Forecast, Kenji Lopez-Cuevas said, “I am passionate about what I do, so that is one necessary ingredient.”

Additionally, in another interview with Mexican Business News, he said “A professional and unified effort is critical to support cancer patients and their families.”
