Johann De Bono and Udai Banerji’s labs have achieved My Green Lab certification at Platinum and Green levels
The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) shared on LinkedIn:
“The Institute of Cancer Research’s Sustainability team are delighted to share that Professor Johann De Bono and Professor Udai Banerji’s labs have achieved My Green Lab certification at Platinum and Green levels respectively.
Over the last eight months, alongside their critical work in the division of clinical studies, lab members have been focusing on areas of laboratory sustainability which they can practically make progress on.
A huge thank you to individual lab co-ordinators, without which this achievement would not be possible, and Jack O’Grady from My Green Lab for his support as we strive toward sustainable science at the ICR.
Laboratory certification which will be a requirement for life science grant funding post 2025, as set out in the Concordat for the Environmental Sustainability of Research and Innovation Practice, is critical for building a culture of sustainability not only in labs but across organisations, and will help reduce the environmental impact of research science.”
