Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Why headwraps play a crucial role in cancer journey?
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This week on Learning Tuesday, spotlight one of the side effects of chemotherapy – hair loss, and why headwraps play a crucial role in their journey.
Chemotherapy, while life-saving, often leads to hair loss, which can deeply impact a patient’s self-esteem and confidence. Although the hair often grows back, Headwraps can provide comfort, protection, and a sense of normalcy during a challenging time.
Always show empathy and kindness to a patient wearing a headwrap. A simple smile or word of encouragement can make a world of difference.
