Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: The Task in the Cancer World Never Pauses, and Neither Do We
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026 and a Founder of the Medicaid Cancer Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As Cancer Survivors Month ends, I call attention to the strength, resilience, and stories that continue to fuel our mission in the cancer space. Though I was unable to attend the 2025 Network of People Impacted by Cancer in Nigeria (NePICiN) Cancer Survivors Summit, I was ably represented by my capable team from the MEDICAID CANCER FOUNDATION.
The summit, themed “Empowering the Journey: From Diagnosis to Survivorship,” brought together survivors, caregivers, experts, and advocates to spotlight the urgent need for survivor-centered care across Nigeria. This is in line with World Health Organization and global resolutions to include persons with lived experiences in conversations.
As Chairperson of the Network of People Impacted by Cancer in Nigeria (NePICiN) board, a goodwill message was delivered on by behalf by our COO, Mrs. Nkiruka Nwankwo.
Their presence reinforced our commitment to amplifying survivor voices. The task in the cancer world never pauses, and neither do we.
Congratulations to Network of People Impacted by Cancer in Nigeria (NePICiN) for this effort, under the able leadership of Ms Mary-Gloria Orji and to every survivor and advocate who keeps the conversation going.”
