Wade Swenson: The Rural Oncology Conference in Kansas is fast approaching
Wade Swenson, Program Manager at ACCC and Founder of Rural Cancer Institute, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Rural Oncology Conference in Kansas is fast approaching—and with it comes a powerful opportunity to spotlight how innovative outreach can transform cancer care in rural communities across the nation.
We’re proud to share that Dr. Phu Truong of the Cancer Center of Kansas (CCK) and Valerie Davis his former NP will be featured speakers at this year’s event. Together, they’ll present on “Successes and Struggles of Outreach Clinics,” highlighting how CCK’s model—built on a network of 20+ outreach clinics—is successfully delivering advanced oncology care directly to rural patients across the state.
Their session will explore how this approach addresses access barriers, supports continuity of care, and offers a scalable solution for communities across the U.S. As rural areas everywhere confront growing disparities in cancer care, the Kansas model offers a proven path forward.
