Tunji Alausa: Pleased to lead the Nigerian delegation to facilitate licensing for Nigerian Physicians in Diaspora

Tunji Alausa, State Minister for Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria, shared on LinkedIn:  .

“In line with the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare’s Healthcare professional in the Diaspora (HPD) initiative, I was pleased to lead the Nigerian delegation on discussions regarding MDCN’s aim to facilitate licensing for Nigerian Physicians in Diaspora to be able to practice in Nigeria.

The MDCN’s goal not only aligns with their core objective to enhance stakeholder engagement and relationships nationally and globally, but also aligns with Mr President’s mission to boost the involvement of Nigerian healthcare professionals both at home and abroad.

By working with ANPA, the MDCN can utilise the associations network to;

  • Foster annual practising licensure
  • Serve as a clearing house providing 3rd party endorsement of MDs in the Americas and Caribbean
  • Support for the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) accreditation of Medical Schools in Nigeria
  • Foster teaching engagement
  • Enhance MDCN’s relationship with academics in the Americas and Caribbean seeking faculty engagement or research collaboration

It’s time we leverage our national and global networks to drive productivity in the healthcare sector.

I extend thanks to Dr Fatima Kyari, MDCN Registrar and her team for making the trip to enlighten ANPA’s leadership team and it’s members about the councils plans.

I eagerly await the positive change this collaboration will bring for the sector and the nation.”
