“‘Without patients, research is just knowledge’ These were the wise words of the brilliant Prof Lisa Horvath, Director of Research at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse defining ‘research success’ as ‘changing clinical practice’ at today’s launch of the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Research Institute. The institute aims to catalyse and accelerate the integration of research into cancer care. The passion, collaboration, research excellence and above all, a patients-centred anchor, shone through brightly.
Dr Cathy Foley, Australia’s former Chief Scientist also gave a stellar address on translating evidence into practice – artfully summarising the brilliance, as well as challenges, facing the medical research community. Congratulations to all involved.”
