“It was amazing to see The Institute of Cancer Research on the big screens at Tottenham Hotspur Football Club Stadium.
CBPE have been tremendous supporters of the ICR this year. The charity football match, made possible by Matt Murphy and Laura West, has raised £38,050 and counting for cutting-edge research into metastatic breast cancer led by Professor Vicky Sanz Moreno.
None of this would have been possible without Alantra, DC Advisory, KMPG LIMITED, Investec, Arrowpoint Investment Partners, Baird, Liberty, Raymond James, Deloitte, Mindera, Aquaspersions Limited, Veincentre, The Key, FSP, HF, DCL Corporation, BKL, Tetra Consulting, Healthnet, Blatchford, HGF Limited, and ABI (UK) Limited for generously donating and taking part in the match.
Secondary breast cancer kills thousands every year. Once a cancer has spread, it becomes more difficult to treat and is more dangerous to the patient. A key focus for us at the ICR is understanding how cancer spreads, and how to better treat it, so that one day it will not be the devastating disease that it is today.
Cancer treatments take years to come to fruition – but without funding, years becomes never. We are truly grateful to everyone who participated and gave generously.
