The Dorcas Cancer Foundation participated in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Global Alliance SSA Regional Meeting
The Dorcas Cancer Foundation shared a post on LinkedIn:
” ‘Knowledge,’ they say, ‘is power,’ especially when it drives transformation and is directed toward causes that change lives and shape brighter futures.
This was the spirit in which The Dorcas Cancer Foundation (TDCF) participated in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Global Alliance Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Regional Meeting held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The meeting brought together a dynamic community of pediatric cancer champions, healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and advocates across Sub-Saharan Africa. It was a powerful reminder of what becomes possible when collective knowledge, lived experience, and unwavering passion come together to confront pediatric cancer head-on.
For TDCF, the experience was far more than a learning opportunity; it was a moment of deep reflection, growth, renewed commitment, and meaningful connection.
As Nigeria’s only oncologist-led pediatric cancer nonprofit, our participation reaffirmed the urgent need for collaborative action to strengthen early diagnosis, treatment access, and survivorship support for children with cancer in Nigeria and the region.
We thank the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – ALSAC teams for this invaluable opportunity. It was a space to learn, connect, contribute, and return home, inspired with greater resolve to continue driving change and improving outcomes for children facing cancer.”
Korede Akindele, Head of Programs at The Dorcas Cancer Foundation, shared this post, adding:
