Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, shared a post on X:
“The 2nd WHO Global Conference on Air Pollution and Health concluded with a shared goal among over 50 countries to reduce the health impacts by 50% by 2040 and save millions of lives every year.
My deepest thanks to President Gustavo Petro for his leadership and for mobilising support from around the world to address air pollution as a critical public health issue.
Now, let’s turn commitments into actions!”
