Sunil Verma: ASCO25 … My 25th ASCO in a Row
Sunil Verma, SVP, Global Head of Oncology at AstraZeneca, shared on LinkedIn:
“ASCO25 …my 25th ASCO in a row, made even more special with our seven plenaries in a row!
As I look across Chicago skyline in anticipation of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, I’m reminded of the incredible teamwork within AstraZeneca and the broader clinical cancer community that has culminated in this monumental moment: AstraZeneca’s seven consecutive years of plenary presentations at ASCO, and second year with two plenaries, showcasing our commitment to pushing the boundaries of cancer research.
Clinical research requires global collaboration and commitment focused on improving patient outcomes. It’s driven by science and bolstered by partnerships with researchers, healthcare providers, industry leaders, patients, and policymakers who share a unified vision: advancing patient care and eliminating cancer as a cause of death.
Our strong presence at ASCO reflects the importance of listening to and working closely with the clinical community. By integrating diverse insights and experiences, we harness the power of science to transform patient outcomes, ensuring that every discovery brings us closer to better, more effective treatments.
I am deeply inspired by colleagues from around the world. Their dedication and commitment fuel my passion today just as they did 25 years ago at my first ASCO.
Let’s celebrate this journey of progress and collaboration, and relentlessly push the boundaries of what’s possible in cancer research and treatment.
Here’s to continued advancement in research and development, innovation, partnerships, and ultimately, improved outcomes for patients everywhere.”
