Suhail Qureshi explains how scalp cooling works
Chandandeep Kaur, Science Writer and Consultant at Happiest Health, shared a post on X:
”Suhail Qureshi explains that scalp cooling mitigates hair loss during chemotherapy by cooling the scalp, causing blood vessels to constrict and reducing blood flow to the hair follicles.
This, in turn, minimizes the exposure of hair follicles to chemotherapy drugs. He adds, ‘Scalp cooling can lead to a significant 40-50% reduction in hair loss, particularly among breast cancer patients.”’
