“Closing the Gap on Women’s Health
The McKinsey Health Institute and the World Economic Forum Global Alliance for Women’s Health (GAWH) have released their latest report titled ‘Blueprint to close the women’s health gap – how to improve lives and economies for all.’
The report highlights nine critical conditions affecting lifespan, including ischemic heart disease, cervical cancer, breast cancer, maternal hypertensive disorders, and postpartum hemorrhage. It also addresses conditions that influence health span, such as menopause, perimenopause, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), migraine, and endometriosis. For more insights and to track progress on these conditions, check out the Women’s Health Impact Tracking (WHIT) platform.
Cervical Cancer: I found it staggering that addressing just the cervical cancer burden could unlock an estimated 2.4 million Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) annually and add $10 billion in annual GDP globally.
