Shaban Juma: The importance of HPV vaccination and early screening for pre-malignant lesions
Shaban Juma, Resident in Clinical Oncology at Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences, shared on LinkedIn:
“Yesterday, I had the privilege of presenting to the dedicated medical students of TAMSA, TANZANIA MEDICAL STUDENTS’ ASSOCIATION(TAMSA) Kairuki Chapter Hubert Kairuki on a critical public health topic—cervical cancer.
Our discussion covered key areas such as the epidemiology, risk factors, symptoms, and essential prevention strategies, including the importance of HPV vaccination and early screening for pre-malignant lesions.
I also took the opportunity to encourage these future healthcare professionals to be proactive advocates for cervical cancer prevention, recognizing their vital role as young leaders in shaping a healthier future.
Together, we can make a lasting impact.”
