“A big thanks to Peter Zhou and the entire team at the University of Kentucky Markey Cancer Center, University of Kentucky, for inviting me to Lexington to give a talk.
It was an incredible trip filled with meaningful connections and insights into the groundbreaking science happening at the center.
I was privileged to meet and exchange ideas with amazing scientists like Guan-Yu Xiao, Yadi Wu, Ren Xu, Rina Plattner, Samuel Awuah, Kathleen L. O’Connor, Teresa Fan, Xia Liu, and the founding chair of Global Cancer Consortium, Vivek Rangnekar.
I am truly inspired by the dedication and innovation at Markey Cancer Center.”
Sendurai A. Mani is an Indian American oncologist and molecular biologist. Currently holding the Dean’s Chair for Translational Oncology at Brown University Warren Alpert Medical School, Dr. Mani also serves as the Associate Director for Translational Oncology at the Legorreta Cancer Center at Alpert Medical School. Dr. Mani’s research focuses on finding the mechanisms driving cancer metastasis and therapy resistance, particularly in breast cancer. He is renowned for his discovery of cancer stem cells and their role in tumor progression and treatment resistance.
