Santiago González-Moreno, Medical Director, Chairman, Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center Madrid, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Kick-off meeting for the Patient Manifesto PSOGI Barcelona 2025. Representatives from Peritoneal Malignancy patient advocacy associations from around the world met virtually for the first time on April 10, 2025 to join forces towards this project.
This Manifesto, hosted and promoted by Asociacion Peritoneum, will be unveiled during an ad hoc session within the program of the Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International (PSOGI) Congress on Thursday October 30, 2025 at 17:00 CEST in Barcelona, Spain. Patient voices will have a slot in our Congress actual program for the first time on this 15th edition. That session will not only include the Manifesto but some additional original contents for patients… and also appropriate for caring doctors… so stay tuned.
Counting on media and scientific societies to amplify this voice and get it closer to the appropriate (administrative) stakeholders so that every Peritoneal Malignancy patient, regardless of geographical location, will have the expert assessment and care they deserve. More specialized multidisciplinary units are needed to reach this goal, by the hand of structured and sound training by experts. A need that confirms and conforms the mission of our European School of Peritoneal Surface Oncology (ESPSO).”
