Ruben Mesa, President of Cancer National Service Line at Advocate Health, and President of Atrium Health Levine Cancer, shared a post on LinkedIn by Steven Kridel, Chair of the Department of Cancer Biology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, adding:
“Amazing Cancer Biology department, driving the crucial scientific underpinnings of advances in cancer prevention, screening, therapy, and survivorship, translated across Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center and our Advocate Health.”
Quoting Steven Kridel’s post:
“When the Department of Cancer Biology was founded, the Wake Forest University School of Medicine had one campus.
When the Innovation Quarter opened, some faculty moved there (2 campuses). When we became part of Atrium Health, we gained more faculty in Charlotte (three campuses).
Now, part of Advocate Health, the department will comprise faculty on four sites (The Pearl CLT as the fourth) in two cities.
A unique matrix that strengthens the department and will increase translational science.”
