“We kicked off an exciting new chapter for Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Guilford County today as we broke ground on our new outpatient surgery center and medical plaza in northwest Greensboro! We’re glad to bring cutting-edge research and innovation to the community with this facility and we’re committed to delivering the quality care that Greensboro deserves.”
Dr. Ruben A. Mesa, MD, FACP, serves as the president and executive director of Atrium Health Levine Cancer Institute (LCI) and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, he holds the position of vice dean for cancer programs and professor of medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He is an international expert in hematologic cancers, particularly myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Through his tireless efforts, Dr. Mesa continues to drive progress in the understanding and treatment of hematologic malignancies, offering hope to those affected by these complex diseases.
David Zaas, MD, MBA is the President of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. He also serves as a Professor at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. David Zaas is a pulmonary and critical care medicine physician with an interest in advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation, focusing on improving outcomes from lung transplantation including the role of infectious complications and organ rejection.
