Richard Scolyer: Tour de Cure – an incredible organisation in Australia which supports cancer patients and their families
Richard Scolyer, Senior Staff Specialist in Tissue Pathology and Diagnostic Oncology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, shared a post on X:
“Tour de Cure (TdC) is an incredible organisation in Australia which supports cancer patients and their families and friends as well as raising money to help facilitate important cancer research as we strive to reach zero deaths from all cancers.
I have really enjoyed cycling on the TdC Signature Tour for the past couple of years in northern NSW/Qld in 2023 as a researcher & Tasmania in 2024 as a brain cancer patient as well as a researcher. I have heard many heartbreaking stories of other cancer patients from many amazing people many of whom are now my personal friends.
Channel 7 with Mark Beretta have put together fantastic TV stories about the tour each year which touch the hearts of many people, including me. Recently released was the 2024 journey- it’s superb and I shed many tears watching it.”
