Celebrating the Treatment of Our 1000th Proton Therapy Patient – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center

“In September 2020, we opened the Dwoskin Proton Therapy Center at Sylvester, the only proton treatment center in South Florida located at an NCI-designated cancer center. Recently, our team celebrated an incredible milestone—treating our 1000th patient.
This achievement not only highlights our team’s dedication and commitment to utilizing leading-edge technology and research to improve patient outcomes but it’s made even more special because our 1,000th patient is Dr. Keith Candiotti, Emanuel M. Papper, professor and chair of anesthesiology at the University of Miami Health System and Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Candiotti’s treatment journey was led by Dr. Alan Pollack, Clinical Service Leader, and supported by the entire radiation oncology team. Together, they celebrated this milestone, showcasing the power of collaboration and innovation in patient care.
