Princess Dina Mired: It’s time to rethink how we structure global health systems
Her Royal Highness Princess Dina Mired shared a post on X:
“Reimagining Global Health: A Holistic Approach
In the latest episode of Global Health Dialogues, Dr. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu and I discuss a pressing issue in global health: the current system often divides patients by conditions, leading to a fragmented approach to care.
“It is so important to look at people as human beings with one whole body… rather than the current global health infrastructure dividing patients into disease constituencies or coalitions… patients with communicable diseases versus non-communicable diseases… and the problem is that this has impacted the physical organization of the health infrastructure on the ground as well as the global donor infrastructure… so that created a negative bias and fragmentation in care delivery.” – Princess Dina
It’s time to rethink how we structure global health systems. By focusing on the whole person, we can create a more inclusive and effective healthcare system for all.
