PAPERI – Proud Moment for Egyptian Science and All Women in Research Across Africa
Pan-African PGS Education and Research Initiative (PAPERI) shared a post on LinkedIn by MARC adding:
“Celebrating Excellence in Science and Perseverance.
Warmest congratulations to Prof. Dr. Marwa Sayed Matboly, an outstanding Egyptian scientist and a true role model for women in STEM, on the successful completion of her groundbreaking project on machine learning and transcriptional profiling in NASH management—a study that resulted in several high-impact publications and a patent application.
Supported by MARC, Prof. Matboly’s work exemplifies the transformative power of combining cutting-edge science with relentless perseverance. Her ability to complete this complex research on time is deeply inspiring. It’s a proud moment not only for Egyptian science but for all women in genomics and biomedical research across Africa and the world.
We celebrate you, Prof. Marwa, for your vision, dedication, and leadership—and we look forward to seeing how your research continues to shape the future of precision medicine and liver disease management.
Your success is a powerful message to young scientists—especially women—that with passion and persistence, science can change lives.”
Quoting MARC’s post below:
“In 2022, MARC was inaugurated as a one-of-a-kind integrative research center with a vision to turn breakthroughs into real-world medical solutions. One of MARC’s first impactful milestones was to provide funding to five excellent research proposals by different Egyptian investigators, in our three focus health areas (infectious diseases, liver diseases, and cancer immunotherapy).
This week, we celebrated the completion of two out of these five projects. MARC hosted Prof. Marwa Sayed and Prof. Dr. Ayman El-Shibiny to present the summaries of the project achievements and future prospects in front of senior and junior scientists. The presentations were impressive and reflected fruitful work (with seven publications and one patent application). An expert panel of Prof. Imam Waked and Prof. Mahmoud Bahgat discussed with the awardees, then with MARC leaders, possible ideas for translating those fruits into accessible healthcare solutions.”
